Dr. V. Thiruvalluvan has his educational qualifications of M.A. (Linguistics), M.A. (Tamil), M.Phil. & Ph.D. (Linguistics) apart from a certificate course in Hindi. He joined Annamalai University in 1992 as Lecturer and elevated to the position of Reader in 2000, Professor in 2015 and served as Director, Centre of Advanced Study in Linguistics (2010 to 2012 and 2016 to 2020) and Dean, Faculty of Indian Languages (2014 to 2020). He has also coordinated as Deputy coordinator -UGC- ASIHSS (2003 to 2007) and Co-ordinator, UGC SAP – V (2015 to 2020) programmes. He acted as Convener of Dean’s Committee (2016 to 2020) and served as a Member in the Vice-Chancellor Convener Committee, Registrar in-charge, Syndicate Member in Annamalai University and Governing Body Member in Puducherry Institute of Linguistics and Culture. Further he was a member in several Expert Committees in University and UGC level.
He has 28 years of teaching and research experience and guided 12 students for their Ph.D. degree. He completed 5 major projects from University Grants Commission, Government of India. He has totally 16 research papers published in nationally and internationally reputed journals. He organized 19 conferences / workshops / refresher courses, apart from participating and presenting papers in 20 national and 09 international conferences / symposia / conferences and delivered 41 invited talks in various events. He proves himself as a renowned researcher through his Life membership in Linguistics Association of India, All India Linguistics Sangam and Arima Nokku. He visited few foreign countries for educational and research purposes.
