Rules and Regulations

  • Library Working Hours
    Open on all days except National Holidays.
    Monday to Friday : 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on all working days
    Saturday : 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
  • Library Membership card is not transferable.

  • Each Registered Member can borrow books as given below:
  • Members Books Loan Period
    Faculty Members 10 3 Months
    Non – Faculty Members 2 14 Days
    Ph.D Scholars 5 1 Month
    M.Phil Scholars 5 14 days
    P.G.Students 2 14 Days

  • Members are responsible for the books borrowed on their Membership cards
  • Loss of library Membership card should be reported to the librarian immediately in writing.
  • All student members should produce their identity cards to the security or to the authority
    concerned as and when required.
  • All members should sign the Gate Register at the entrance as a token of their acceptance and
    adherence to the rules of the library.
  • Students are prohibited from taking their private belongings inside the library hall.
  • Strict silence should be observed in the library.
  • No marking should be made in the library books.
  • Students follow proper dress code.
  • A member is solely responsible for any damage caused to the books or other property
    borrowed by him / her and should replace them.
  • Misbehavior in the library will lead to cancellation of membership and also initiation of
    serious disciplinary action.
  • Two renewals for a book is allowed
  • Reference books can borrow at the weekend and must be returned on first working day of a
    week.
  • Members on receiving books shall examine them before they leave the library and, report to
    the librarian, if any damage is noticed.
  • On default of return of books on the due date, an overdue charge of Re.1/- per day per book
    will be levied
  • Loss of books should be reported to the librarian immediately in writing and the member
    should replace it with another good copy plus overdue charges.
  • Members may suggest in writing to the librarian about the purchase of any textbook or
    reference book, which may or may not be available in the library or for which the number of
    copies may not be sufficient.
